Last week, the New Relic team headed up to Redmond for Microsoft’s BUILD 2012 conference. BUILD was one of the most exciting and busiest developer events we’ve been to recently. With the releases of Windows 8, Windows 8 Phone and the Surface tablet just days before, Microsoft knew it had a captive audience of developers ready to hear the latest and greatest news from the company itself.
On the second day of the show, Microsoft added one more announcement – the debut of the Windows Azure Store. As we mentioned before, the Windows Azure Store is a way for developers to sign up for premium solutions, like New Relic, directly within the Azure portal. New Relic was excited to be one of the store’s inaugural add-on vendors and even more excited to be demoed by Microsoft Corporate VP Scott Guthrie during his keynote presentation. (To check it out, skip to minute 59 of this video.)
Later on, our own Nick Floyd took part in a panel discussion on enterprise adoption of cloud technologies. He was joined by Scott Haneslman, Principal Program Manager and Community Architect for Microsoft’s Web Platform, who moderated the session, Adria Richards, Developer Evangelist at SendGrid and Ben Wen, VP of Marketing and Sales at MongoLab.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth or spoke with us during the hallway tract. We enjoyed getting to know the Microsoft community and can’t wait for BUILD 2013.
