We were pleased to learn recently that Always On had named New Relic as an OnDemand Top 100 Winner for the second year in a row. While it’s always nice to be recognized for our hard work, one of the more meaningful aspects of this award, for us, is the high caliber of the companies with which we are sharing the honor. First and foremost, a number of our close friends and partners were recognized by AO including Engine Yard, GoGrid, Joyent, and Acquia. Congratulations to these companies—they are paving the path to the cloud by providing strong cloud platform and infrastructure solutions. Several vendors in the cloud management space made the list, each with unique and proven approaches to provisioning, testing, performance management, security, and more. Also on the list was an impressive array of business solutions–SaaS-based apps that are being increasingly adopted by organizations looking for a smarter/better/faster way to implement CRM, content delivery systems, business management software, and more. In sum, the list points to a continued, steady march toward the cloud. As @sweetlew pointed out recently, with SaaS and the cloud we are witnessing a new era of democratization of software and of the web, and frankly, we are thrilled to be a part of it.
