A primeira visita a São Paulo foi um enorme sucesso!
We’re back from São Paolo, where our first New Relic User Group in Brazil (as well as our first in South America) was a huge success! The enthusiasm and engagement of the customers and friends who came out to meet us was incredible. About 60 people turned out for this event, some of whom told me they had driven up to six hours (!!!) just to be there. Others flew into São Paulo for the AWS Summit a day early so that they could also attend our user group.
Big thanks to managed cloud services company Dedalus, which hosted us for the evening in their offices. Attendees spent the first hour of the meetup chatting, networking, and sharing stories, while taking in the amazing views of the São Paulo skyline visible from the Dedalus space.
New Relic sales engineer Breno Gomes kicked off the evening with training session on how to get more out of New Relic APM: “Demystifying Application Performance Monitoring.”
Mauricio Fernandes, president of Dedalus, gave a presentation with Wilder Martins, a project manager for the company, showing how Dedalus uses New Relic to help its customers migrate to AWS. (For more info, be sure to read our full Dedalus case study.)
Our other guest speakers for the evening included Marcio Nobrega and Daniel Bonato, CEO and CBO (Chief Business Officer) respectively, of Networkr, a social network for business events. Marcio and Daniel gave a presentation titled “Networkr + New Relic: Monitoring Deployment Using Rest API and Curl.”
Marcio and Daniel acknowledged being big fans of New Relic, and said the chance to be presenters at the first Brazilian New Relic User Group was very exciting: “Estar ao lado da New Relic em algo é como estar ao lado daquele artista famoso que admiramos, realmente somos fãs do produto e da empresa.” (Speaking at an event like this with New Relic is like appearing alongside a famous artist we admire—we’re such big fans of both the product and the company.) And referencing the lively introduction to the evening by our own Bruno Solis, they reiterated that “Como o Bruno disse, ‘Esse é um momento histórico da New Relic no Brasil.’” (As Bruno said, this is a historic moment for New Relic in Brazil.)
This may have been our first User Group meetup in South America, but after the warm welcome we received, we’ll surely be back soon!
