Power to the People – Nerds Rule at TechCrunch Disrupt

TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco 2012

A few months ago, we ran a series on the rise of the Nerd Economy. (Check out Part 1 and Part 2 to see what we mean.) Developers are leading the global economy forward and helping to create jobs by building businesses and becoming nerdpreneurs.

At New Relic, we want to help startups succeed. That’s why we’re sponsoring this year’s TechCrunch Disrupt from September 8 – 12. TechCrunch is bringing Disrupt back to San Francisco to reveal an outstanding slate of startups, influential speakers and more. Past conferences have helped launched other successful startups and we can’t wait to see who’s next.

Disrupt starts out with a Hackathon on Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9. We’ll be providing food and drinks, and announcing the winner of the best B2B application. The winner will get an Apple Thunderbolt display, an Apple MacBook Pro, a year’s subscription to New Relic Pro, and be featured on our blog. Sign up and find out more on the Hackathon site.

TechCrunch Disrupt proper starts on Monday, August 10 at the Concourse at the San Francisco Design Center. Check out the Startup Alley where over 100 early stage companies will introduce their technology and talent to the audience. The top thirty companies get a chance to compete in the Startup Battlefield and win the grand prize of $50,000 and the coveted Disrupt Cup. We’ll be there cheering them on. Stop by our table to meet our team, see New Relic in action and pick up your Nerd Life tshirt.

MC FrontalotBut the fun doesn’t stop there. We’re throwing an epic Nerd Life after party at the Mighty Lounge on Monday night from 9 pm – 1 am. MC Frontalot will be rocking the house with some of the best nerdcore music we’ve ever heard. Show your Disrupt badge at the door to join us.

And don’t forget, Disrupt attendees have 30 days to try New Relic Pro for free. Sign up today to get your Data Nerd tshirt and a pair of Skullcandy earbuds.

It’s never been a better time to be a nerd.
