New Relic Acquires Opsmatic: Monitoring the Infrastructure That Runs Modern Software

I’m excited to announce that New Relic has completed the acquisition of Opsmatic, a privately held startup based in San Francisco that provides live-state infrastructure monitoring across today’s dynamic cloud and hybrid infrastructures.

Strategically, I believe the Opsmatic acquisition supports New Relic’s vision for helping modern software teams build and manage amazing digital apps. We believe today’s successful software teams need real-time visibility into every component of their stack—from the infrastructure all the way up to the user experience.

Opsmatic’s cloud-based service has been designed to provide modern IT Ops teams with a precise, real-time picture of the detailed configuration of an enterprise’s computing infrastructure, and an instantaneous feed of any changes being made. Any variation, or “drift,” in configuration across host groups would also be immediately visible to enable teams to fix issues before they cause trouble, often saving hours of detective work and remediation.

Founded in 2013, the Opsmatic product was born out of a frustration with the lack of tooling to support modern, fast-moving DevOps teams. From the start, the Opsmatic team has had a real passion for helping their customers’ IT operations teams, a passion that we value and will build on as they join New Relic.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the Opsmatic team to New Relic!
