Hey everyone, Brian Doll here. We love it when customers get creative with New Relic’s API and think of new and helpful ways to integrate their application performance data with key data from other tools. John Fan from Cardinal Blue, a long-time New Relic user (and award-winning case study blogger) recently wrote a great post on integrating New Relic data with Geckoboard.
We thought the post was pretty awesome in and of itself, then we heard from the folks at Geckoboard that they liked the integration so much that they standardized on it. Nice! Now integrating New Relic data with Geckoboard is easier than ever. Just to make sure, we had our marketing guy John test it out. We figured if John could get his own Geckoboard up and running with New Relic data, then it must truly be simple. Lo and behold, about ten minutes after i issued the challenge to John, he sent me this:
John’s screenshot showing key New Relic metrics in the Geckoboard dashboard. So simple, even the marketing guy can do it.
Success! Here’s how to make it happen. Just create a Geckoboard account (signing up is simple), then click Add widget >> Infrastructure Monitoring >> New Relic. You’ll then need to add your New Relic connection details in the fields provided and choose the metrics you would like to see. Instructions on how to find your New Relic account name and API key are available here.
