If you’re deploying apps on a VMware-based cloud, we’ve got great news for you. Today we announced that New Relic has joined the VMware vCloud™ Express Partner Ecosystem and that New Relic RPM can now be used to monitor and manage Java and Ruby web applications deployed on Terremark’s vCloud Express Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering. Additionally, as a member of this ecosystem, New Relic provides its leading SaaS application management solution to VMware vCloud customers and partners, enabling them to work collaboratively to monitor, troubleshoot, and tune Java and Ruby web applications deployed on the VMware vCloud Express Service as well as any cloud service based on VMware vCloud Director.
New Relic Joins the vCloud Express Partner Ecosystem
VMware’s vCloud Express is an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering delivered by leading VMware service provider partners. Its on-demand, pay-as-you-go model helps IT reduce the costs associated with fluctuating infrastructure requirements. These partner providers (Such as Terremark) offer integrated solutions for VMware vCloud Director. New Relic’s role in the partner ecosystem is to provide performance management capabilities that are essential for maintaining well-performing apps in the cloud. Not only can vCloud Express customers use RPM to monitor and manage their own VMware cloud-based apps, but also VMware vCloud-powered service provider support teams can use New Relic RPM to collaboratively with customers to troubleshoot issues and ensure superior service delivery. This saves time and money for both service providers and their customers as they reduce downtime and mean time to repair (MTTR) for business-critical web applications.
Jian Zhen, director of cloud computing solutions at VMware said today “We are pleased to see New Relic deliver support for VMware vCloud™ Director-based clouds and the VMware vCloud Express ecosystem. The addition of the company’s application management tool to the VMware vCloud ecosystem offers opportunities for organizations to effectively manage the performance of business-critical web applications deployed on VMware vCloud Director, delivering IT as a service. Additionally, VMware vCloud service provider support teams can use New Relic RPM to work collaboratively with customers to rapidly remediate potential issues and ensure superior service delivery.”
