New Relic Becomes a Publicly Traded Company [Video]

Marking a big milestone for our 7-year-old company, New Relic founder, CEO and Chief Data Nerd Lew Cirne rang the bell on New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today, celebrating our debut as a publicly traded company.

Lew and several of our top execs traveled to New York to hit the NYSE trading floor (see video below). Meanwhile, employees gathered in our offices around the world (San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Dublin, and Barcelona) for viewing parties. On the West Coast, that meant an enthusiastic pre-dawn champagne toast!

New Relic’s love of all things data was also embraced by some NYSE traders—and at least one security guard—who donned our signature “data nerd” t-shirts. Even the NYSE building itself sported giant banners proclaiming that, “We are all data nerds.” For today at least, it felt that way!
