From November 26 to 30, the Las Vegas strip will be humming as some 50,000 cloud practitioners, eager for the latest insights about what to expect from the largest cloud vendor in the world, descend on AWS re:Invent, arguably the highlight of the cloud computing social calendar.

As always, New Relic will be there, contributing our knowledge and technical expertise around the importance of monitoring and visibility in the AWS cloud. Whether you’re just beginning your cloud journey, moving steadilyAWS re:Invent 2018 logo towards a modern cloud-native microservices architecture, or examining how DevOps methodologies can enhance team agility, boost deployment frequencies, and build competitive advantage in the cloud, we have the guidance and support you need. At New Relic, we’re dedicated to helping your teams innovate faster so you can build valuable relationships with your customers. We wouldn’t dare sleep on this opportunity to showcase how New Relic can help you deliver better software experiences.

We’ve got two booths—visit both!

This year we’ll have booths in the Venetian (1220) and the Aria (Q200), so be sure to visit both for informative Lightning Talks featuring technical deep dives with New Relic experts and partners, as well as real-world customer stories. Key talks include:

  • Monitoring Complex Modern Systems: A New Approach to Streamlining Log and Application Performance Data in the Cloud (1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Aria)
  • Using New Relic to Dashboard the 5S Value Stream: Speed. Stability. Scalability. Savings. Security. (Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 2:30 p.m. the Venetian)
  • The Future of Work & Healthy Teams: An Atlassian Approach (Wednesday, Nov. 28, 12:30 p.m. the Aria)

The New Relic booths are also hosting our Performance Bar during the show, covering topics like AWS migration and adoption and tech and team evolution. You can even sign up for personalized 1:1 time with a New Relic Performance Pro to address your unique needs and questions. These in-depth chats bring you up close and personal with product managers or engineers, so request your 1:1 session now!

Breakout sessions with New Relic experts

Amazingly, even two booths are not enough to hold everything we’ve got in the works for AWS re:Invent. That’s why New Relic experts are hosting not one, not two, but three different breakout sessions designed to interest both AWS and New Relic users:

lee atchison

Lee Atchison

Cloud Computing in an Edgy World with Lee Atchison, New Relic Sr. Director of Cloud Architecture.

Edge computing is all about moving specific time-sensitive parts of your application closer to where they’re needed—typically close to the user or a key data source. In this session, Lee will explain how to take advantage of cloud computing at the edge with New Relic.

Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 8:30 a.m. Aria West, Level 3, Juniper 1 (ANT217)

Alberto Gomez

Andrew Tunall

Monitoring Serverless Applications with Alberto Gomez, New Relic Director of Product and Andrew Tunall, New Relic Principal Product Manager.

In this breakout talk, Alberto and Andrew will explain how New Relic enables full observability of the serverless stack with minimal impact in performance.

Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 5:30 p.m. Aria West, Level 3, Juniper 1 (SRV303)

Kevin Scaldeferri

Kevin Scaldeferri

Best Practices for Scalable Monitoring with Kevin Scaldeferri, New Relic Lead Software Engineer.

A successful transition to a modern elastic, containerized, microservice architecture requires automating all the things, including your monitoring and alerting infrastructure. In this talk, Kevin will share some of the best practices New Relic used for applying “infrastructure as code” (IaC) techniques to monitoring and alerting as we went from a single-region monolithic application to a global multi-region deployment of hundreds of microservices.

Thursday, Nov. 29, at 12:15 p.m. Venetian, Level 4, Marcello 4505 (ENT310)

New Relic exhibiting at the AWS Marketplace and Service Catalog Experience

This year, the AWS Marketplace and Service Catalog Experience will be hosted in the Quad, at the Aria hotel. Software vendors from the AWS Marketplace and AWS Partner Network will hold demos and thought leadership presentations on four key experiences related to AWS: DevSecOps, migration, Internet of Things (IoT), and machine learning.

On Wednesday, Nov. 28, New Relic will have our top migration experts on hand delivering in-depth demos and lightning talks and answering questions about your specific migration use cases.

Join us for AWS Gameday: 2018 Edition

You’ll work with our team to grow and scale our systems, and “manage unpredictable feature releases, changes to our microservices architecture, traffic fluctuations, new requirements, and much more.” (Go behind the scenes at AWS GameDays in the New Relic Modern Software Podcast.)

There are two Jam Sessions, and both will take place Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the MGM Studio Ballroom:

Session 1: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.; doors open at 7 a.m.

Come say hey, and grab some swag

No tech conference visit is complete until you’ve scored the event’s best swag. And we’re proud to say that New Relic swag is second to none, from laptop stickers to socks.

But even the coolest swag can take you only so far.
