FutureStack15 is coming up fast, but the roster of amazing speakers is growing even faster. We’re excited to announce participation by representatives from BloomThat, Docker, GitHub, Google, Joyent, and Netflix. Plus, we’ve booked a second appearance by our legendary kickoff party headliner “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Kevin Klein, VP of Engineering at nationwide online flower-delivery service BloomThat, will talk about how his company, launched in 2013, expanded from San Francisco to California and now to the East Coast. Learn how the New Relic Software Analytics Cloud enabled BloomThat to scale its technology and support its customer-facing apps.
Jason Chan, director of engineering at Netflix, offers a presentation on “Splitting the Check on Compliance and Security.” Jason will walk attendees through how Netflix moved its PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley environments to the cloud. The big story? How the team was able to leverage the cloud and agile development to satisfy both the developers’ need for speed and the auditors’ preference for control and stability.
And don’t miss our panel discussion on “Containers in Production: Crazy? Awesome? Or Crazy Awesome!” Moderator Stevan Arychuk, part of our strategic marketing group here at New Relic, has assembled a panel of vendor and user container experts to share their real-world experiences of both the awesomeness and the challenges of using containers at scale in production. Stevan will welcome Banjot Chanana, Senior Director of Enterprise Product Management at Docker; Mark Mandel, Developer Advocate for Google Cloud Platform; and Joyent Product Manager Tim Gross as well as our own Sean P. Kane and Karl Matthias, co-authors of Docker: Up & Running – Shipping Reliable Containers in Production.
In addition, you can expect even more fun—if that’s possible: “Weird Al” Yankovic won’t just be the headliner of our kickoff party at the historic Fillmore Auditorium on Thursday evening. He’ll also be sharing his thoughts in a fireside chat as part of Friday’s closing keynote, interviewed by 5by5 founder Dan Benjamin.
The newly named speakers are in addition to previously announced participants including Steve Wozniak, Capital One’s Gill Haus, Airbnb’s Igor Serebryany, and HealthCare.gov’s Sean O’Neil as well as Rackspace’s John Engates, MLB Advanced Media’s Joseph Inzerillo, Slack’s April Underwood, and AWS’ Stephen Orban. Oh, and don’t forget News Corp.’s Paul Cheesbrough, Time, Inc.’s Colin Bodell, Target’s Maria Brinas-Dobrowski, Zillow Group’s Dave Rochwerger, former Rent the Runway CTO Camille Fournier, and Tripwire founder Gene Kim, among many others.
If you’re not already on board for FutureStack15, November 11-13, at San Francisco’s iconic Fairmont Hotel, register now before the event sells out.
