Our Customers Are Sexy Innovators And They Know It!

On Monday night, we graced the green carpet at the 7th Annual Crunchies Award Ceremony, commonly referred to as the “Oscars of high tech.” The Crunchies celebrates innovation, entrepreneurship and the most promising tech startups of the year. And a year of fodder for returning emcee John Oliver to use to good-naturedly skewer the tech industry.

We thankfully didn’t appear in any of his monologues, but were honored to be recognized as the runner-up for the “Sexiest Enterprise Startup” award.  And, we were also proud to see so many of our customers there as fellow nominees and winners.

Of the more than 75 companies nominated, more 30 were New Relic customers — 8 of which even went home with their very own Crunchie (including Airbnb, Wanelo and the winner in our “Sexiest Enterprise Startup” category — we tip our hat to our longtime customer, Zendesk). On top of that, the chairman of our Board of Directors Peter Fenton of Benchmark Capital grabbed a win as VC of the year. Needless to say, we saw a theme… the New Relic family had a great night.  And a great year, for that matter.

Here at New Relic, our customers and partners are everything. They are family. We look out for both their software and their overall business. We help pick them up when they crash and also celebrate in their ingenious successes. It is because of our customers that we were nominated for the “Sexiest Enterprise Startup” award and as awkward as it may be, it was YOU who voted, YOU who called us sexy – so THANK YOU for being there for us!

Last year was a big year for us (check out our year-in-review infographic). Not only did we make huge strides in the enterprise — adding more than 500 new enterprise customers in 2013 — but we also grew our family to include more than 80,000 customers. As we continue to move into 2014, we have never been more dedicated to continuing to build innovative and beautifully designed solutions to help power and advance modern software. We have a lot of big things underway…and, who knows?  Maybe next year will be our year for the Crunchies!
