During the beta for RPM for PHP, we were truly excited when Dries Buytaert, Acquia CTO and co-founder, volunteered to take RPM for a spin. Dries happens to be the creator and project lead for the Drupal open source project. Drupal is one of the premier PHP apps in use today — powering 1% of the Internet! — and we knew we had to support it out of the gate. While we felt pretty good about our initial foray in the PHP world, we rely of folks like Dries for their specialized knowledge so that we can continue to make updates/improvements and provide the best tool that we can.
We are especially excited to see Dries’ post today about RPM for PHP. In the post Dries mentions that although he has been using it on his blog, “I’m quite keen to unleash it on a Drupal 7 installation to see what we can learn.” So are we! Acquia is one of the leading PHP-focused partners that we mentioned in our announcement last week. They have a strong Drupal consulting practice and we are looking forward to working closely with them to help the Drupal community better ensure superior online service delivery. Look for more news on that in the New Year.
