More Company News: Square CFO Sarah Friar is joining our Board!

Lately my blog posts have had a similar theme: Leadership additions (Hilarie Koplow-Adams as Chief Revenue Officer!) and board appointments (Peter Currie!). This post is no exception, and is equally exciting. sarah-friar Today, I’m pleased to announce the addition of a new board member here at New Relic: Sarah Friar, the CFO of Square, is joining us as we prepare for the next chapter of growth and leadership as a software analytics leader. I’ve known Sarah for about 15 years. I used to “hang out” at Stanford Business School where Sarah and Peter Fenton (the chairman of our board) were classmates. While I wasn’t a student there, I was there so often, people thought I was. I’ll share those stories more some other time, but the relationships have been enduring, and I’m pleased to have Sarah join the board. Not many people on the planet have the relevant, high-scale, hands-on experience with finance, engineering, and operations that Sarah has. After I first met her at Stanford, Sarah went on to strategic positions at Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, and Square, all of which have given her a front-row seat for the evolution of the modern software business model. There are lots of parallels to New Relic, and Square, each are disruptors that have reinvented antiquated business practices and made a difference for people, business, and the world. I’m also delighted to announce that Robin Schulman is joining today as General Counsel for New Relic. She served as Legal Counsel at Adobe Systems for the past three-and-a-half years and she also lectures as an Intellectual Property Course Instructor at Santa Clara University’s Law program. I’m extremely excited about these additions to our team! Please join me in welcoming Sarah and Robin to the New Relic family.
