This year, FutureStack16 in San Francisco boasts four different content tracks, each designed to inspire attendees, bring them up to speed, and impart the skills needed to make the most of New Relic, build great software, and create exceptional digital customer experiences.
From Analytics for Everyone to Developing Breakthrough Customer Experiences to Operating Dynamic Infrastructure, any or all of the tracks would be a great way to spend November 16 and 17 in San Francisco. But none is more fundamental, or more useful, than the track we’re calling New Relic 101. Combining hands-on, instructor-led training with real-world lessons from New Relic customers and experts, this track is designed to provide everything you need to know about getting the most out of New Relic. (Be sure to bring your laptop!)
Most likely, you already know New Relic is awesome, or you wouldn’t be reading about FutureStack16. But that doesn’t mean you’re leveraging the full capabilities of individual New Relic products or the power of our platform capabilities to solve a wide variety of technical and business problems surrounding your software. If you are a new user, this track will help you maximize the value you get from New Relic right away. If you are already using New Relic, this track will show you what else you can do to extend New Relic’s value far beyond your current use.
Level up with New Relic
The New Relic 101 track includes more than a half-dozen training sessions and presentations carefully curated to expand your knowledge of what New Relic products can do for you and your business. This track will boost your comfort level with individual New Relic Software Analytics Cloud products and offer help with platform capabilities you may not even be aware of, such as New Relic Insights and Alerts available within the products.
With a mix of content levels and session types, the track is designed to be rewarding for both newbies and experienced New Relic users. You’ll learn how to get immediate value from New Relic APM, as well as info on leveraging advanced capabilities like Error Analytics and Services Maps for a taste of what’s possible to achieve with New Relic. You’ll learn how to use multiple New Relic products together and how to take advantage of New Relic’s cross-product capabilities, such as alerts, dashboards, and New Relic Insights. Put it all together, and you’ll be able to get a broader and deeper view of your entire technology stack, and learn how to build New Relic into your teams and processes to create better performing software that delights your customers.
A day full of training opportunities
The New Relic 101 track is chock-full of deep-dive training sessions derived from the popular workshops we’ve held around the world, including APM basics, advanced troubleshooting, writing scripts, building dashboards, configuring Apdex and alerts, and more—even NRQL hacking!
In addition, we’re also excited about presentations from customers sharing their real-world tips and tricks on how they use New Relic to build great software, such as Joe Inzerillo, CTO of Major League Baseball Advanced Media, who will talk about how MLBAM uses New Relic to help win a very high-stakes game. Erik Bursch, VP of Platform, and Frank Hanson, Senior Manager of Platform as a Service Delivery, at Gannett will talk about how they used New Relic to handle the pressure of covering the busy election season. And you’ll also have the opportunity to hear a presentation by Cameron Tuckerman-Lee, Site Reliability Engineer for Airbnb.
And those are only some of the high-value learnings that will be taught in New Relic 101 track at FutureStack16. The track includes many more highlights, and of course it’s only one part of the exciting goings-on at FutureStack this year.
