New Relic Reaches New Milestones in Q1 2013

Each quarter we like to look back and take stock of all we’ve accomplished. Q1 2013 was a truly exceptional time in New Relic’s history. We now support more than 40,000 active customer accounts, capturing more than 100 billion daily metrics and we recorded a 130% growth in revenue compared to Q1 2012.

And that’s just the beginning. Here’s a wrap-up of all we accomplished during just the first three months of 2013:

Launched New Relic for Mobile Apps & New Partner Programs
Last month we released the second product in our history – New Relic for Mobile Apps. The product is now monitoring the performance of more than 1,000 native iOS and Android mobile applications, with a total of 11 million end users in production and enterprise environments. This includes our customers Dark Horse Comics, Mirego and Wanelo.

We also announced a new partnership program with the “Who’s Who” of mobile app platform providers — Adobe® PhoneGap™ Build, Appcelerator, Parse and StackMob – and extended our mobile app service to our to existing platform and infrastructure partners such as CloudBees, Joyent, Rackspace® Hosting and Windows Azure Mobile Services

Secured $80 Million in Funding & Announced Plans for Our IPO
In February, we announced that we’d secured the largest funding round in the company’s history and were getting ready for a future public offering. This latest round of financing was led by Insight Venture Partners and included T. Rowe Price as a major new investor, with other participants Dragoneer Investment Group, Passport Ventures, Benchmark CapitalTrinity VenturesTenaya Capital and Allen & Company.

Grew Our Footprint
In addition to opening up two new offices – our new San Francisco HQ and Portland Engineering Center – we added 40 new employees, growing our headcount to more that 230 people.

Celebrated New Customer Wins
We welcomed many new customers into the New Relic family including Comcast, General Electric, Urban Outfitters, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hibu Global Limited, Pearson Technology and Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby.

Won Industry Awards
For the second year in a row, New Relic was named one of the Best Places to Work in the Bay Area. We also won the Marketo Revvie in the Innovative Integration category and were named as a SIIA Software CODiE Award finalist.
