A few weeks ago, I had the chance to represent New Relic at Dreamforce 2012. It was obvious before I even arrived at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center that the event was going to be huge. There were Salesforce and Dreamforce signs all over nearby buildings and Howard Street (which runs between the two halves of Moscone) was closed.
The New Relic booth was part of the Developer’s Zone and was in Moscone West, across the street from the rest of the conference. We were located near our partner Heroku and had a steady flow of traffic throughout the week. That being said, traffic definitely picked up after the attendees heard about us in different sessions or at the hackathon.
The sessions I attended were (understandably) very Salesforce-centric and weren’t as beneficial to me personally. But I did get to learn some interesting things about SEO and enjoyed the keynote by motivational speaker Anthony Robbins. In Anthony’s presentation, he said that growth only happens when we push ourselves and go beyond our comfort zone. Afterwards, I thought about how this could be put into practice. If we push ourselves beyond what we think is possible, we could have a positive impact on our relationships with customers, within our teams and with ourselves.
I had a great time learning about the different technologies out there and representing New Relic. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth. I hope to see you all again next year at Dreamforce 2013.
